Gala Retail were delighted to take on the mantel of organising the first Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF) Annual Golf Day following many successful years of the event being run by Tom Shipsy of Stonehouse. Taking place at Killeen Castle Golf Club on Friday 22nd September, the event raises money for the IGBF, a benevolent fund providing financial relief for those in need within the retail, wholesale and supplier trade sectors.

Commenting on the monies raised, CEO of Gala Retail, Gary Desmond, said that it is important that the industry supports its own charity, reinforcing that all funds raised by all participants and sponsors goes directly to the IGBF.

Mr. Desmond adds: “Hosting the IGBF Annual Golf Day was a tremendous privilege for Gala Retail, and I’d like to thank all those that turned out to support the esteemed event, which has a rich tradition of supporting the retail, wholesale, and supplier trade sectors. Raising over €41,000 is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication of our industry suppliers and their commitment to giving back. We look forward to building upon this success in the years to come.”
